Margaret Update
It's been around three months since my last meaningful post about Margaret. Plenty has happened between now and then. Most of you reading this probably already know most of it, but I'm going to write it all down anyway because I may want to read it again at some point in the future. So where to begin. It looks like the last time I posted about Margaret, she was just starting to roll from her back to her stomach. Back then, it was only a one way process. Now she's has regularly been rolling in both direction for quite some time. She's also started spending more time on the floor and on her stomach. In the last week or two, she's even started the beginning steps towards crawling. When she lays on her stomach she's beginning to pull her legs up under her body and push herself forward.
The best stuff, though, is how Margaret's personality is developing. She's starting to play games with us, and to laugh and smile. I particularly like the games she plays that involve her doing something, and then immediatey looking at us to see our reaction. We, of course, smile, and she immediately does it again looking for the same reaction. We've also been able to get her to laugh this week not by tickling her, but by making faces or sounds at her. Two months ago the only time we got to hear her laugh was when our neighbor's daughter would pat her on the head and make noises for her. Now, with the right mood and a little effort, we're pretty readily able to make her laugh, which is awesome.
Today we hit a big milestone. She has started making her first syllables. I had her this morning, giving Liz a chance to sleep in. As I was walking around with her, I heard a little whisper from her "bah bah bah". I thought "No way!" so I looked at her and sayd "Bah bah bah" back to her. She didn't immediately respond. I thought maybe it was just an accident. A few minutes later, though, she said very loudly and clearly "BAH BAH BAH!" She did it again for Liz when she woke up, and for both of her grandmothers at one point or another today.
Lately she's been doing new things so quickly it's been hard to keep up. I'm very excited. The thing I've always wanted from parenthood is to be able to teach my child and build a strong relationship with them by interacting with them. Although I've had that from day one with Margaret, It's been growing exponentially these last few weeks. I am excited about what's to come. I am ready to see her start moving around and developing language skills, and I'm ready to teach her as much as I am able.

Just to add to this post Will had her today while I was napping and he noticed that her first tooth has broke skin.
