Hacked Tyde Coffee Table
For mothers day my sister and I built my Mom a coffee table. She has had the same one since before I was born and has wanted something new for a while. So I found my way back over to Knock-Off Wood. I showed my mom a few tables and she picked the Tyde Coffee Table. To buy this table for her brand new would have ran around $400 bucks. Ashton and I were able to build it buy extra screws and brushes for $150. Oh and forgot to add when needed to buy a belt sander so we split that too. So at the end of the day we spend $150 and at the end of it we have a belt sander. Next weekend we are building the same table for Ashton and later at some point one for me too. All that is left to do is add the poly coating and it will be set and ready for use. I am sure this table will last forever now that Mom doesn't have two little girls putting it though the ringer. There are matching end tables to go with this table that I am thinking will make a great Christmas gift.
We still have a little way to go, but so far I am so happy with how it has turned out. I just can't wait to finally be building my own.
Also special thanks to Knock-Off Wood. Without these free wonderful plans I could have never done this. It is truly as simple as building with Legos. Now just praying the poly goes on easy with no bubbles.
Final pictures and tips will be coming soon. Just need a nice amount of free time so I can focus and make sure I do the last and final step correct.
One last thing if you haven't ever seen my Modern Farm House kitchen table I built make sure you check it out just click here.
